Prof. Roberto Ierusalimschy is an Professor at the Department of Informatics, where he works with programming languages. He is the head designer of the programming language Lua, used worldwide in programs like Angry Birds, World of Warcraft, Adobe Lightroom and Wikipedia.

Biography
An Professor at PUC-Rio, Dr. Roberto Ierusalimschy focuses his researches on the area of Programming Languages. He has developed, as head designer, the programming language Lua, used worldwide in several programs, such as Angry Birds, World of Warcraft, Adobe Lightroom and Wikipedia. He
currently coordinates LabLua, which serves as a laboratory for the development of Lua and other languages. Dr. Ierusalimschy graduated (1982), obtained a master’s degree (1985) and a PhD (1990) in Computer Science from PUC-Rio. He also did postdoctoral studies at the University of Waterloo (1992).
